How I Fell In with the Curate…
Nothing like nearly being parboiled by a Martian fish fry.
This episode serves as an introduction as to what Herbert George thinks of his local organized religion.
Heliographs are mentioned in this episode, a rather cunning method of communicating over a fair amount of distance though the use of mirrors. And, if you listen real close, you can hear me almost die upon some of Herb’s alliterations. They’re pretty to read with your eyes, but my tongue was indeed challenged. There’s only so much time for so many takes. Ah well.
There is also a line in this chapter that sticks with me, particularly in the face of a highly organized and powerful adversary: “the mightier they are, the more sane and wary should we be.” In light of recent events, this was rather a nice find. Timely, even.
